Estephan “Steve” Tellei
Of Summertown, Dededo passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022 while at Guam Regional Medical Center at
the age of 73.

Born on July 15, 1948 in Melekeok, Republic of Palau, Estephan grew up in Melekeok and went to school until
he graduated from Palau High School and moved to Saipan where he started working as an air condition
specialist until he retired and moved to Guam with his family. He is well known for his love of baseball and
spent most of his free time as an umpire for baseball games while living in Saipan.

He is survived by his wife: Sylvia Moreno Tellei, his ten children: Hover Tellei, Christine Tellei, Myron Tellei,
Emily Kumangai, Stephen Tellei, Teresa T. Pineda, Nestor Tellei, Nelia Tellei, Sylvester Tellei, and Steve Tellei
and 14 grandchildren: Oreng, Kyree, Hatsumi, John, Jace, Paul, Jessica, Fe’ara, Skyler, Joseph, Demian, Kiana,
Spencer, and Sebastian.
Additionally, he is survived by his siblings: Sariang King, Kyoshi Tellei, Frida Tellei, Diliaur Ngirmekur,
Tlouch Tellei, and Ellen Tellei including numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Estephan was preceded in death by his parents: Balii Tellei and Tellei Dekei of Melekeok, Palau; his siblings:
Damian Tellei, Ngirakesau Tellei, Yoski Tellei, Hatsumi Nobuo, Sidonia Tellei, and Benito Tellei.
He will be dearly missed by his family and relatives and the Palauan community.

Viewing will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Ada’s Mortuary in Sinajana from 10:30am – 1:30pm.
Estephan’s body will be transported to Palau on Friday, July 22, 2022 for his funeral.
